Saesneg yn unig ar gael ...

Following a tough month of fixtures - Felin was going into the last mid-week of August (yes) missing several key players through suspension/injuries. Despite this Euron was keen to keep with the same formation that saw Felin win over the weekend.

Following our last encounter - there was no surprise the officials were going into this game on high alert.

Kick off under away, Felin started the brightest, taking the game to Pen. Within minutes Felin had the better of chances to break the deadlock, only for Penmaenmawr’s keeper to deny the visiting team.

With the middle of the park congested at times, Felin look to take the game to the flanks. On the 26th minutes Felin’s hard work paid off following some great passing down the right side - a Gruff John cross from the byline finding the head of Iwan Bonc who headed in from close range.

Within less than 5 minutes it was equal. Felin getting complacent at the back, three attempts to clear their lines only to be punished for trying to play football ut the back. Marc helpless to deny the equaliser. A few minutes later Pen could of taken the lead, this time Marc pulling off a fine save to deny the the home team. Felin were comfortable on the ball and playing some great football, Pen were forced to change their shape and tactics.

Halftime 1-1

Second half underaway and a early knock to the Gypsy King, making way for Aled Emyr’s and a debut for the new boots. Penmaenmawr came out flying, like a team with nothing to lose. Despite the constant threat and pressure, Felin’s defence remained calmed, kept shape, and remained focused, dealing with all Pen threw at them. At times it was like a boxing match - each opponent taking it in turns to attack and defend, attack, defend, attack, defend - but no-one able to find that vital hit.

With less than 10 minutes on the clock, an Aled Emyr cheeky backheel almost found that vital second goal only to miss by a good 40 yards.

Iwan Bonc found himself in front of goal, Pens keeper holding his ground to deny the visitors the lead. Attack after attack and Felin were guilty of not taking their chances, normally this would come back to haunt us.......but not today.

A Gruff John strike hitting the bar, the ball rebounding to Daniel Hughes whose effort was blocked, the ball then landing at the feet of Iwan Bonc who smashed home for the visitors - “offside” shouts from the home-side - behave. Felin holding on till the end.
